MEMORIES OF

ST PAULS CHURCH, CWM

The parish had two great assets, a substantial church building and the Parish Hall which could accommodate 200 people easily, to watch events taking place on its magnificent stage under its proscenium arch. The church had long been a nucleus for the social and religious life of the community. Before the war when entertainment was very much home made, there was a thriving amateur dramatic group of which my mother and father were members. The pictures here are examples of open air plays being put on at the church garden party held in the vicarage grounds and I have family photographs of my parents in various guises taken in the Parish Hall when some play was performed.
